The Justice Support Program operates using a pool of volunteers who act as support persons in court support roles. Volunteers usually have some prior experience working with people with a disability, in disability services, or studying towards this. Volunteers may also have a background in the legal or justice system or may be studying in this field. These volunteers will be there to help people to understand and exercise their rights. Are independent from police and legal professionals. Help people to get legal advice and understand it. Raise any individual needs of the person. Help people understand outcomes, conditions and consequences. And support people to abide by court orders. Training is provided. This consists of a 3 day course which includes Court and Police station visits. A manual is provided.

Rabbit and Small Animal Volunteer Attendant - Job Code: RO003125

Rabbit and Small Animal Volunteer Attendants are required Monday to Sunday with an animal shelter in Wangaratta. Volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of three months with a trial period of one month. Hours are: 8am to 10am; 8am to 12 noon and some afternoon shifts. This timeframe may be changed at the discretion of the Shelter Supervisor. Tasks: General cleaning of area and disinfecting of cages. Completing observation sheets and providing input on behaviour for animal profiles. Feeding animals - including collecting food. Animal socialisation, play time, grooming and handling. Referring queries about adoption to a staff member. Restocking supplies. Checking animals' general health. Volunteers need to be 15 years or older. Proof of a current tetanus vaccination is required.

A not-for-profit organisation is holding its Annual General Meeting in October 2015 and wishes to attract volunteers to be part of its General Committee. This organisation is looking for volunteers with specific skills in: Social justice; Community development; Policy Making; Accountancy; Legal experience; or from other business and professional backgrounds as well as volunteers from the local community. The Committee meets every third Wednesday of the month for 1.5 to two hours.
